LEADERSHIP & ADVOCACY
Celebrating Legacy & Embracing the Future: Chief Financial Officer Changing of the Guard
It is with deep gratitude and admiration that we congratulate Pam Daugherty, Chief Financial Officer and matriarch of Keystone Symposia on her retirement after more than three decades of service to the organization. To her colleagues, Pam is far more than a CFO—she is the heart of Keystone Symposia. She embodies the spirit of community and excellence that defines us. Pam will be deeply missed, but we are excited to welcome her successor, Amy Gnojek, whose depth of experience, proven record of leadership, and strategic vision promise to propel Keystone Symposia toward great innovation and impact. Leading the Charge: SAB member Dr. Shruti Naik on Reimagining the Biomedical Funding Landscape
The Keystone Symposia Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is a visionary group of thought-leaders who cultivate our cutting-edge conference portfolio. While their scientific prowess is unmatched, their leadership and innovation extend far beyond the science itself. These inspiring scientists are also leaders in the scientific community, often leading the charge to fight for science at a time when it is most critical. Their efforts in science advocacy are ensuring a future for science, and scientists, locally, nationally and around the world. Here, we showcase Dr. Shruti Naik, who is not just fighting for science funding, but working to entirely reshape the funding ecosystem in her home state of New York.
We can’t wait around for Superman to come save us. We must step out of the lab, and fight for ourselves—we must take action to ensure a future for science, and the scientists yet to come," says Dr. Naik.

This is a pivotal moment to embrace science advocacy and actively work to promote science in the public and political eye. To empower scientists with the knowledge and tools they need to fight for science, Keystone Symposia has teamed up with our partners at the Endocrine Society to provide some guidance, ideas and inspiration to get you started. Transforming Cancer Therapeutics: From Molecular Pathways to Patients in our 2026 Cancer Series
By Emma Wabel
From developments in early detection to the advent of immune-based therapies and precision medicine approaches, advances in cancer treatment reflect a growing strategy to attack cancer at every stage in the patient journey: from prevention to detection, treatment, and remission. Keystone Symposia has organized a series of four meetings in 2026 dedicated to bringing leaders in cancer research and treatment together to collaboratively examine the disease from all angles. These four meetings are designed not as individual conferences, but as chapters in the cutting-edge story of cancer origins, mechanisms, and treatments, as each meeting builds from the others to produce a deep understanding of the current state of the field. At the heart of every Keystone Symposia meeting are our poster sessions, which provide an intimate platform to showcase emerging research from scientists at every career stage, sparking innovations and collaborations. This is where unpublished science is discovered, new paradigms are discussed, and seeds of groundbreaking research directions are planted. Poster sessions also provide unique career advancement opportunities for early-career scientists – a quintessential aspect of Keystone Symposia’s mission – elevating the visibility of their work to peers, potential collaborators and potential employers, while providing critical scientific insights. Now, poster presenters have even more to gain, with the launch of our People's Choice Poster Awards across seven of our 2026 meetings – the winner will take home a complimentary registration to a 2027 Keystone Symposia conference of their choice (+ one cash prize)!
