Written by Shannon Weiman | Dec 20, 2024 3:22:31 PM

The upcoming 2025 conference season boasts an impressive lineup in the Keystone Symposia portfolio, as we travel around the world to address the greatest challenges in biomedicine today, and explore new frontiers in science, bioengineering and medicine.  These include tackling HIV in Africa, addressing climate change and infectious disease threats around the world, and showcasing therapeutic advances in vaccinology and proximity-based therapeutics.  Find out more in the highlights and organizer interviews below!

Returning to Africa

In 2025 we will return to the African continent for the first time since the pandemic, with our HIV Cure: Antiretroviral Therapy-Free Control of HIV Infection conference, in Durban, South Africa on April 7-10, 2025.  The conference will bring global research leaders to the region, aiming to increase the accessibility and impact of HIV research to those in most need.  See highlights in the video below.

Vaccinology Joint Meeting with Gates Grand Challenges

Our annual vaccinology conference, Vaccinology: Horizons Across Disease, Demography and Technology, will be held jointly with the Gates Grand Challenges meeting, in Washington, DC on June 04–07, 2025.  This collaboration aims to encourage interdisciplinary insights and collaborations between scientists, clinicians and policy makers towards societal impacts.  As an added benefit, Keystone Symposia conference attendees are invited to attend Gates Grand Challenges joint programming on June 4 as a complimentary bonus session.

The conference is spearheaded by vaccinology field icon, Dr. Rino Rappouli, along with his powerhouse team of field leaders, Drs. Kanta Subbarao, Laurence Zitvogel and Firdausi Qadri, and will feature Keynote Address by Dr. Anthony Fauci!

Facing Threats of Climate Change

In June we will be hosting our first conference on Climate Change and Human Health, focusing on infectious disease threats.  The Climate Change & Infectious Disease Threats meeting, in Hannover, Germany on June 23-26, 2025, will explore global impacts, surveillance and mitigation strategies to protect vulnerable populations around the world from these growing threats.  The meeting will assemble biomedical, clinical, technological, epidemiological, and global health experts to collectively and holistically tackle this global challenge. Watch the organizer interview below to learn more!

Bioengineering New Frontiers in Drug Discovery, Design & Capabilities

In February we will explore innovative new ideas for drug design and therapeutics at the  Proximity-Based Therapeutics: Targeted Protein Degradation and Other Pharmacological Approaches conference at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on February 16–19, 2025. The program will showcase novel strategies like molecular glues that are enabling treatment of previously untreatable diseases. Find out more from the organizers in the interview below:
