The 2017 HDEART Workshop in Houston, TX hosted three of our Keystone Fellows this year, who presented research on health disparities: KSF 2013 Dr. Digna Velez Edwards (Vanderbilt University), “Evaluating the Role of Race and Ancestry in Complex Disease Using Electronic Health Record Data”; KSF 2016 Dr. Lindsey Trevino (Baylor College of Medicine), “Early Life Environmental Exposures, Epigenetics, and Health Disparities”; and KSF 2015 Dr. Amol Kulkarni (Howard University), “Preclinical Drug Development for Inflammation-Associated Disorders.” DAC member Dr. Rick Kittles, also presented his research on “Ancestry, Health and Disease: Placing Genetic Susceptibility into Context.”
